In this paper, we report the enhancement in electrochemiluminescence signals of a bipolar electrode by introducing a nanoporous indium tin oxide (ITO) layer to the cathodic pole. We explored the cause of the ECL enhancement in view of enlarged surface area, as well as electrocatalytic effects arising from the confined morphology of the nanopores, known as the nanoconfinement effect. |
